Jūrmala entry fee 2026: EUR 5 a day, and where it is free
From 1 January 2026 driving into the Jūrmala toll zone costs EUR 5 a day. Our houses in Priedaine are outside the zone, but the fee applies if you drive over the bridge to the beach.

Where the toll zone starts
The fee applies to cars, motorcycles and quad bikes entering the special-regime zone; the start of the zone is marked by “Maksas zona” road signs. Coming from Riga on the A10, the zone begins after the Lielupe bridge: Lielupe, Bulduri, Dzintari, Majori and everything towards Ķemeri is inside.
Priedaine is the Jūrmala district on the right bank of the Lielupe, before the bridge, and is not in the zone. You turn off the A10 to the houses before the bridge, so no pass is needed. Babīte and the road from the airport are outside the zone too.
By train, bike or on foot there is no fee anywhere: the charge is only for motor vehicles.
How to buy a pass if you drive over the bridge
Cash has not been accepted since 2026.

You can buy the pass before or after entering, but on the same day, by midnight.

At the Priedaine and Vaivari entries, by Rimi in Lielupe, at the Dzintari concert hall, the Majori car park and Dubulti station, card only: the list and map on jurmala.lv.

The pass is tied to the plate; the municipal police check plates, nothing goes behind the windscreen.
When you do not pay
The full list of exemptions is in the municipal binding regulations; check jurmala.lv before you travel, because the rules change.
- Staying in Priedaine, Babīte or anywhere else outside the zone
- Coming by train, bus, bike or on foot
- Electric cars are exempt from the fee
- Registered Jūrmala residents have their own rules and discounts

How to use this when you stay with us
Sleep in Priedaine without a pass. For the beach, the water park or Jomas iela take the train: from Priedaine to Lielupe is 3 minutes, to Majori 10, a ticket EUR 2.30 or less within one zone. Or cycle over the Lielupe bridge on the cycle path.
If you do want the car, buy a day pass only on the day you cross the bridge. On a week's holiday that is usually two or three days, not seven.

Do I pay if I am driving to Priedaine?
No. Priedaine is outside the toll zone, and the road from the A10 to the houses never enters it.
By what time do I have to buy the pass?
By 23:59 on the day you enter the zone. Since 2026 there is no cash option: online, in an app or at a card machine.
What happens if I do not pay?
The municipal police check number plates, and entering without a pass carries a fine under the binding regulations.
Do electric cars pay?
No, electric cars are exempt. Hybrids are not.
